How to give Plastic Furniture a Wood Grain Finish

"Excited to share my latest DIY project! Check out this 1/24 scale armoire for my Victorian mansion, complete with a stunning wood finish. Want to achieve the same look?

Let's begin:

 

  1. Start with a plastic armoire base.
  2. Sand the surface lightly to create texture and remove any glossy finish.
  3. Apply a primer suitable for plastic to ensure the paint adheres well.
  4. Use Sharpies and acrylic paint in shades of orange and brown to mimic wood grain.
  5. Apply multiple thin coats, allowing each layer to dry completely.
  6. Finish with a clear coat of varnish for added shine and protection. Voila! You'll have a miniature armoire that looks like it came straight out of a vintage mansion.
