Miniature Briefcase in 1 24 scale

📜 Step into the past with my latest creation! 🕰️ I've crafted a small, vintage-inspired briefcase that's the perfect blend of nostalgia and craftsmanship. Take a peek into the bygone era as I showcase it in an old office setting. 🧳✨

The 3D printed briefcases have supports that need to be removed. I use my Exacto knife and fine grid sandpaper to remove both the supports and any blemishes that might be visible.

Since I am trying to replicate a vintage look, I am aiming for a bit of visible texture and won't make the piece entirely smooth. This way the paint will be slightly uneven and help to create that leather look needed for this briefcase.

Acrylic paint

This time I opted for Acrylic paint (Red Oxide Brown) and started by covering the entire piece (even the buttons and handles) with a solid base. Then I covered everything with Golden Gel Medium . By dabbing on the paint rather than brushing, even more texture is added, while at the same time the paint is sealed in.

Once everything was dry it was time to add the details. I used a darker coffee brown to add the corners and dabbed tiny spots of gold on to show the buttons.

Details of Miniature Briefcase

The key to achieving a vintage look is to apply the paint layers unevenly. Think of how a briefcase handle would show signs of wear. Darker areas are also indicated on the bottom and on the sides where naturally dirt would accumulate turning the leather a darker brown.

I left the backside plain this way there are two ways of displaying the briefcase. For the front I printed out vintage looking stickers.
