Crafting Miniature Acacia Puffs with Fimo

Miniature Acacia Puffs in Basket

I recently uploaded some photos of my latest creation: miniature acacia puffs! I wanted to share a bit about the process of making these delicate little things.

Crafting Miniature Acacia Puffs with Fimo

To start, I used lemon yellow Fimo that I formed into little round balls of various sizes. I then used the thinnest gauge wire (28 gauge, to be exact!) and cut them into 1 inch long stems. Next, I crazy-glued the balls to the stems to simulate the puffs seen on the actual plants.

To finish off each branch, green Fimo was used to shape leaves that were also attached to the stem. Each branch was baked according to the instructions for the clay and then assembled in the basket.

Miniature Baskets

I had already hand-finished the basket (which is available in various colors from my shop - check it out below!).
