The Flower Merchant

Kate Perugini (British, 1839-1929)

The Flower Merchant signed with co-joined initials 'KP'(lower left) was painted in oil on canvas, measuring 48 x 26¼ in. (121.9 x 66.7 cm.)

Kate Perugini was the daughter of the novelist Charles Dickens. She first married Charles Alston Collins, the Pre-Raphaelite painter whose best known work, Convent Thoughts, is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. After his death she married the artist Carlo Edward Perugini. At the age of 21 she had sat to Millais for his painting The Black Brunswicker

My friend Phillip mentioned in the comments section this book and I looked it up for anyone who might be interested in it. The cover alone is interesting enough!
