Artist: Enzie Shahmiri
Title: Sudanese Girl
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 14"x 18"
As a portrait artist and Orientalist painter, I was immediately drawn to the image of this little Sudanese girl as she was standing at one of the feeding centers in Darfur. Stephanie Zito, who is an aid worker took the original photo and gave me permission to use it as a reference for this painting. This little girl sums up the loneliness and sense of loss children from war torn countries such as her must be experiencing. Her gaze was enough to stir a willingness to try to achieve the impossible. Through a year long campaign and networking effort, with the help of many generous souls, this painting is now up for auction.
100% of the auction proceeds will benefit UNHCR for the people of Darfur. Bidding on this item has ended.
