In the Harem
This painting was done by the 19th century Orientalist artist Fabbio Fabbi. Many of the Orientalist Harem scenes are creations out of the imagination of the artist, since no males and especially male foreigners were ever allowed inside. What has always amazed me has been the ability of the artists to create these luscious interiors full of interesting objects, that are not only a visual feast for the eyes, but act as the perfect backdrop to support their characters. This is what I am trying to achieve with Tiffany's painting. Is anyone out there a medium? Yes, I could use some help from beyond, especially from one of these Orientalists! LOL!
