The chosen title is "Santa's Eco Opus Magnum" submitted by Louise. Congratulations Louise ~ Please email me your address to receive your free print!
First I like to thank everyone who took part in the contest to find a suitable title for my Santa painting .
There were some cool title suggestions ~
Santa resting on New Years Eve ~ Santa and his favorite toy ~ Santa celebrating Freedom ~ Santa and a bird ~ Lessons from Santa ~ World Peace at Hand ~ Santa at Work in the Off Season ~
Santa’s Eco Opus- ~ Santa’s Eco Opus Magnum ~ Santa's Wish for Peace ~ Santa With Bird of Peace
~ Santa Releases Prized Bird for Peace ~ Santa's Wish ~
"Come Christmas and your goose is cooked." Said Santa!"
I chose Lousie's title for several reasons. The word ECO comes from the Greek word oikos, which means Home. It also stands for being environmentally friendly.Santa is giving us the gift of water through his magical bird, so we may continue to live on this planet we call home. He is also reminding the viewer to think about the planet and it's shortage of water, thereby reminding us of being more eco friendly.
According to Wikipedia
Magnum opus (plural: magna opera, also opus magnum / opera magna), from the Latin meaning "great work", refers to the largest, and perhaps the best, greatest, most popular, or most renowned achievement of a writer, artist, or composer. Sometimes the term magnum opus is used to refer to simply "a great work" rather than "the great work" of a specific person."
This magic water bird is Santa's "great work" and gift to us. Through his magic bird he reminds us that the optimum gift is the gift of life. Without water ~ there is no life!
