If you have been following my blog for a while you probably know that I am a big fan of Vitamin C serums. Ever since I have started using Vitamin C serum, my skin has become very firm and looks healthy and hydrated. After several months I have also noticed that my brown spots are finally starting to get much lighter. Yay!!!
Benefits of Vitamin C Serums
Vitamin C (L'ascorbic Acid) is a potent anti-oxidant (shown to be able to protect skin from oxidative damages). Can improve appearance of aged skin (improves skin elasticity by enhanced collagen production and avoids hyper pigmentation including age spots.
It has antioxidants prevents free radical damage protects the skin against the sun. Using the serum regularly it will even out the skin ton and diminish hyper pigmentation. It has taken a couple of months, but I am starting to see a reduction in the severity of my brown spots. The serum works best when applied at night time by rebuilding the collagen. People with sensitive skin can start with a 5% percent solution, however the higher the concentration the better the results will be. My skin is very tolerant and the 20% concentration works just fine. Vitamin C works best with Vitamin E and OZ Natural has not only 20% Vitamin C, but also the recommended Vitamin E.

The Oz Naturals serum comes with a dropper. Fill the dropper with the serum and place it on the palm of your hand. Pat it on your face and neck area. Some people might feel a slight tingling, but that's ok. I use my serum daily, morning and night time. If you notice that you are a bit sensitive, try using the serum every other day until your skin gets used to the serum. You do not need to wash it off and can put make up on your face right after.
A TIP
I have found that lightly exfoliating the skin before applying the serum to the skin for the first time helps to get rid of dead skin cells and allows for better absorption of the serum. Word of caution do not scrub too hard, Vitamin C serum has Hyaluronic Acid and you do not want to irritate your skin.
Coconut Scrub
For a DIY scrub use Coconut oil and baking soda mix equal parts 1tsp +1tsp in a clean mason jar. Sterilize the jar in hot water and then add the oil and baking soda and mix well. Put it in the fridge until it hardens slightly, it should feel like cottage cheese. Coconut oil is very healthy for the skin and the baking soda helps with the exfoliation. Exfoliate your face and neck area and rub it in nicely. Leave it on for a 5 minutes and wash it off with warm water.
