Lightning cables pretty much all look the same, but what makes them different is the speed by which they charge your devices. Each of my devices came with their own cables, but if you are like me, you find that you use your portable devices in more than one room and that's when having more than one lightning cable comes in useful to power up. The length is really a matter of preference and the 3ft cable is enough to have a device plugged to a wall outlet and sit on the couch.
More expensive Lightning cables are designated "MFI certified, which means that the manufacturer had to pay fees to comply with Apple's licensing program. These fees are usually passed on to the consumer making the cable more expensive. I could not find a MFI mention on the Gen-Teck lightning cable, however after three charges all I can say is that the cables seem to work just fine and only time will tell what the lifetime of this lightning cable is. My IPhone 6 had still some charge on it when I tried the cable, but was fully charged up again within 2 hours.
At the current price the cable is a good value and so far I have been happy with it.Lightning Cable 3ft (1m) 8pin to USB Fast Sync Charger with Premium Cord & Connector for Apple iphone 5 & 6 Accessories,(ios 9 Compatible) iphone 6s / 6s plus / 6 / 6 Plus / 5 5s / 5c, Ipad 2 / 3 / 4, Ipad Air, Ipad Mini 1 / 2 / 3 Unlimited Lifetime Guarantee! $5.95 $5.95 Gen-Teck Inc.
