In San Clemente there is a petting zoo/farm called "Zoomars". Located in the historic section (Los Rios Street) of San Juan Capistrano, just behind the train tracks, it's a bit hidden, but worth looking for. Children can pet and feed bunnies, chickens, sheep, goats and other animals.
They even have exotic looking birds!
