African Fat Tail Gecko

I spend Saturday at the Renaissance Fair in Irvindale, Ca. There was a Reptile exhibit where I got to hold this African Fat Tailed Gecko. When threatened this Gecko lifts it's tail, which looks a lot like it's head and starts to run backwards. This fools it's attacker, who usually aims for the head. If the attacker does get a hold of the tail, this smart little fellow will drop it's tail and start running away, in the opposite direction as fast as possible.

It was amazing to see how smooth the scales felt and how calm this little Gecko just moved around on my hand.
