A Donkey and Chickens Outside a Stable

a donkey and chickens outside a stable by Edgar Hunt  (1870-1955)
I remember the donkey's in Iran that would be walked by street vendors through the tight alleys. Sometimes these donkeys, were just unwilling to obey and would stubbornly stand their grounds. On one such occasion, I passed along and caught a vendor beating his donkey furiously. I totally forgot my plans and got into a shouting match with the brute, who had lost all it's senses. Since the fury was now shifted upon me, I took the verbal insults, but saved this lovely creature from further harm. Eventually it started to move as a cue for the owner to let me go as well.
Thank you for Visiting!
