I have migrated to the United States from Germany many years ago and find that the ability to vote is the best way for me to be part of the American Political system. That's why I like to put my support behind #RockTheVote for this sponsored post. Every US citizen, regardless of party affiliation, needs to let their voice be heard through the votes they cast for their political leaders. Only then can we all strive to create a better country that offers its citizens good health care, safeguard against those who mean us harm and simply put, provides those things that are associated with progressive countries.
I am not fond of the electoral vote since I believe that when voters cast their votes the majority of the votes should determine who should be in office. I was so disappointed when I learned how little my vote counted that honestly, I thought why I should even bother voting. But after long discussions with friends and family, I came to realize that not voting harms us all in the long run. Through voting, we have the ability to influence the government!
In voting, we exercise our constitutional right to send a message to our appointed officials and letting them know whether we agree or disagree with the way they are governing our country. By not voting we send the message that all is well and we don't need to make changes. I am casting my vote Nov 6th and hope that you will too!
