Recently, when I was out and about looking for Christmas gifts, I had the strangest encounter in a parking lot. As I was walking towards my car, I noticed that a car had it's blinkers on, the driver waiting for another car to pull out of a parking spot. It could not have been more than a few minutes when another car door opened and a young guy jumped out like a Jack in the Box screaming and yelling. Apparently he did not care for having to wait around and got so annoyed that he yelled a couple of not so nice things to the poor woman waiting to pull into the parking spot.
That dude really needed to chill out and that made me think about how stressed out some people get around this time of year. So how do you find serenity after a day running looking for gifts and running errands?

1. Sip a cup of tea ~
Chamomile and passionflower, valerian root and Siberian ginseng all have properties that make you relax and smell wonderful. Taking even the shortest break, can make you feel calm.
2. Moisten or Mist your face ~
A lavender scented wet wipe or a cucumber-scented spray can reduce anxiety and help to hydrate your skin. I have both in my purse and after touching ten thousand things, just wiping my hands and face helps to make me feel rejuvenated.
3. Tap a pressure point ~
Using your thumb, apply pressure to the base of your neck, right where the skull meets the neck. Apply pressure and massage for two minutes. Nerve endings bunch up there and often get pinched, Massaging that area relieves tension, that often can develop into headaches.

4. Take an Epsom Salt Bath ~
The magnesium sulfate in the salts relaxes your muscles. After many hours walking from here to there, your feet and legs will thank you for it.
5. Do Yoga ~
Stretching exercises with focused breathing greatly help to relax body and mind. The mountain pose is a great exercise that you can do even while waiting in a line. Plant your feet and ground yourself, stand erect and as you inhale and exhale say to yourself: " Everything is exactly as it should be. I have the perfect amount of time and the perfect moment to experience it." (Quote from Vital Yoga) It's amazing how stress and tension will leave you when you repeat this a couple of times.
