Boulder Organic Foods is sponsoring today’s post, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for continuing to support brands that support me!
The weather is getting colder and in our home, it signals "Soup Time"! I try to cook everything from scratch, but on days when I am too busy working on a portrait order, I like the idea of being able to grab an organic premade soup from the fridge that tastes great and is made with good ingredients.
Boulder Organics has a great slogan:
MADE BY OUR HANDS TO FREE UP YOURS™
Boulder Organic soups are made by hand by actual people in small batches. They use only organic ingredients, cooked from scratch in either a vegetable broth or bone broth. I love to support companies that are trying to offer us products that are made with a health-conscious mindset.
I liked that this soup is made with vine-ripened organic tomatoes, fresh cream, and sweet basil, organic celery, and carrots. I usually stay away from premade, since so many premade soups include ingredients that trigger my migraines. However, the ingredients in this soup sounded promising and I was very excited to give this soup a try. I took a photo of the Ingredients and Nutrition list for you.
I was able to fill two bowls up to the rim with this creamy soup. Unlike some canned soups, this soup is not just liquid. Small chunks of the celery and carrots can be tasted in every bite, giving this soup a nice texture, which is very reminiscent of soups made from scratch. The soup does not taste overly tomatoe -eee either, but is more a blend of tomatoes and veggies. The mix is just right and really tasty and did not trigger a migraine! Yeah!
To enjoy this soup, just remove the lid and pour the soup and heat up for 3-4 minutes either on a stove or in the microwave. I totally forgot it this time, but try adding a teaspoon on Olive oil for added creaminess and flavor when you heat up the soup on a stove.
I planted Basil in my garden, for just such occasions, when a fresh Basil leave can add a bit of color and additional freshness to a soup. Add some parmesan cheese to your soup, it goes really well with it and - oh it's so yummy!
For a real hardy, dinner serve the soup with a sandwich. The soup goes well with a grilled cheese sandwich or any type of spread on fresh bread. I had Pastrami on hand, so everyone got a small Pastrami sandwich with their Boulder Organic Creamy Tomato Basil Soup!
In our home, this soup got the thumbs up. We loved the texture and taste and were so happy that we recently bought another one of the Boulder Organic soups. I'll post a review on that soup soon.
