Andrea Bocelli is an Italian classical tenor whose music I first discovered when I listen to his 1997 pop album Romanza. Ever since then I have been listening to his albums and even saw him at a concert in California. Needless to say, I am a big fan of his beautiful, rich tenor voice.
Andrea Bocelli sings in many different languages and covers many different musical genres, which make him quite a diverse musician.
Here is an interesting story. Did you know that when Andrea's mom was pregnant with him she was advised to abort the pregnancy? However, his mom did not listen to the doctors and Andrea Bocelli was gifted to this world. Since childhood, he had very poor eyesight and he even lost his sight entirely during a soccer accident. He spends a lot of his time listening to classical music and singing along. He gave his first concert in a small village close to where he was born and won his first singing competition at age 14.
But enough history, let's talk about his new album titled Cinema. The album celebrates music from classic films and is available on October 23rd, 2015.
The album cover musical scores from "Doctor Zhivago", "Love Story", "The Godfather", "Life is Beautiful", "Gladiator", "The Postman", "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "West Side Story" and "Evita", and many more. There are even duos with Ariana Grande and Nicole Scherzinger. The album is so good that I even heard hubby singing along when I was listening to the album for this review. I have to admit I still like it best when he sings in Italian, but I really liked all the songs in this album as well. Cinema $13.98 By Andrea Bocelli
(Fun fact: Andrea recently sang for Pope Francis on his trip to the U.S. last week.)
