Benefits of Dry Brushing

Many of of use a variety of lotions, powders and make-up throughout the year, which over time can clog skin pores. That thin layer of accumulated residue, plus dead skin cells are often to blame for poor looking skin and ingrown hairs. Therefore, it is very important to support the body through regular brushing to detoxify skin pores . Dry brushing opens skin pores , resulting in a significantly better circulation. Soon after a gentle dry skin massage, the body feels warm and skin becomes wonderfully soft and supple .

Activate the Lymphatic System

The removal of acids and toxins through regular brushing is particularly important when health problems already exist. When you stimulate the skin cells through dry brushing the lymphatic system is also activated, which in turn transports pollutant out of your system through your skin. In addition to the activation of the lymphatic system, dry brush massages also stimulate the cardiovascular system and the entire nervous system.

How to Dry Brush

Dry brushing is best done in the morning before you head into the shower. Start by brushing over your feet, your soles, over toes and gradually move upward towards your thighs and buttock. You should brush towards your heart for maximum benefit. Go over your stomach and back (use a brush with a long handle) and don't forget fingers, palm of your hands, arms and upper torso. When brushing over your throat and shoulder move towards your heart.

It is not necessary to press hard and you will notice that even the first time around your skin will slightly redden since blood circulation is stimulated. Here is a great video showing how it's done...

Soften your skin, reduce cellulite, and help your body detox all by dry brushing your skin daily. Here I show you my "dry skin brushing" routine from start to finish, which I do each day before I take a shower.

I dry brush every other day and love how refreshed I feel. I have noticed that I don't get as cold as I used to and believe it has to do with my improved blood circulation. Overall my skin looks very healthy and I no longer find ingrown hairs on my legs and thighs. I also learned that dry brushing helps with cellulite reduction, although I have not noticed a big change there yet.

I had a chance to try out the 100% NATURAL BOAR BRISTLE BODY BRUSHES by Spa Verde for review purposes and love that the set can be used as three different brushes.  The small brush is ideal for the face and the other brush can be used as a hand held brush for legs and body and by inserting the handle used to brush the back. I like all natural products and the natural boar bristle brush feels really great on my skin. The brushes came in a nice black box, ideal for gift giving. To clean the brush just use soap and water and hang it to dry.
