Salon-Quality Manicure At-home with imPRESS Nails

I have to admit I have never had a professional manicure done. The reason for it is that the smell from the chemicals used in most salons just gives me a real bad headache so I avoid these places at all cost. Since I play piano, paint and garden, I really have no use for long fingernails, but that does not mean that I sometimes don't wish I could have beautifully shaped and lacquered nails.

So when I heard about imPress at home manicure I wanted to try them and see if perhaps this might be a solution to add some glam to my neglected nails. I should point out that when I made the video, I also managed to apply the nails the wrong way. Impress contacted me and send me a new set of nails (red ones) so I can re-apply and correct the post. Thus the two photos of pink and red nails. I did say, I had never had press on nails  before, right?! LOL

Through innovation and a revolutionary technology, imPRESS Manicure is a PSA, (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) Press on Nail MAnicure Set. Pressure sensitive adhesive nails avoid nail bed damage, because the UltraHold™ technology introduced a safe-on-nails adhesive, ending the need for glue and acetone-soak removal. Each box contains 24 gel nails per pack and comes with a small file as well and instructions on how to apply the nails. ImPRESS is perfect for women with busy schedules and younger women who can’t afford weekly salon visits. Women of all age groups will enjoy imPRESS Manicure because there truly is something for everyone. From the French Manicure to nails with elaborate designs and soft or bold hues and glitter tips, high gloss Gel look, the imPRESS Manicure is an alternative to nail polish—without dry time or smudges and dings.

I was surprised how easy it was to apply the imPress nails. The company had send me red and pink ones and I tried the pink ones first. I loved being able to do this right at home and once the nails were on my hand, I enjoyed the nicely lacquered look.  On-the-go moms, or women who are super busy will no longer need to spend time at a salon to get a salon-quality manicure; no need for DIY skills either! Just press on, and with no dry time you can get right back to life’s demands. Plus, UltraHold technology keeps nails on—until you’re ready to remove—just peel off with no damage to natural nails!

Since I had never press on nails before, I had wondered if they would feel different. After I had them on for a few minutes I totally forgot that I am wearing them. Another nice benefit is that these nails can be filed. I filed the corners a bit to make the nails appear more in the shape of my own nails. After wearing them for three days, I noticed that some of the imPress nail tips were becoming a bit brittle at the very top. But a simple file down and everything looked great again.

I wore my imPress nails for five days before I took them off again to change them out with the red set. I washed dishes and did everything except digging in the soil and the nails stayed on without coming loose. Once I was ready to remove them, the nails peeled off without any trouble and I removed the excess glue by just wiping down my nails with a moist wash cloth. At $7 at Walgreens, I think these imPress nails are great for when you want to dress up and have a nice manicure. I would definitely buy them again, because my nails did look very nice.

Select your nails first and place them in the right order. The round part is the part that is place by the cuticle. The Square part is the side that you can file down to your desired shape.
